Hi Friends,
The late novelist John Gardner said there’s only two stories: A person goes on a journey or a stranger comes to town. I’m pretty sure he stole that idea from Tolstoy (who in turn probably stole it from someone else), but when you think of all the stories you know, this is mostly true. The Three Little Pigs: A stranger comes to town. Cinderella: A stranger comes to town. Little Red Riding Hood: a person goes on a journey and a stranger comes to town (if you count the wolf as a stranger, though really, it’s Red who is the stranger in the forest, not the wolf).
